Why I decided to learn software development?
The whole story started when I was at the college of engineering. I liked writing codes with Matlab and Visual Basic in Mathematics and physics classes. In fact, my graduation project was about controlling magnetic bearing via Matlab coding and data acquisition system. However, as any fresh graduate, I wasn’t sure what job was best for me. Hence, I just accepted the first job that I was offered, which was a mechanical engineer. In this job, I was responsible for designing production units, such as vessels, pipeline, mixers, etc. I was also in charge of designing the control system for these units. I was not so satisfied with my duties, so I intended to take a step to improve my coding skills. However, I didn’t have enough time to do so. Thereafter, I had my baby “Malik” in late 2016 and I decided to take an action and teach my self how to code professionally. I started looking for free online courses such as free code camp and code academy. After few months, I learned many things and I had enough motivation to expedite my learning curve and start the next level. So far, I have learned how to build shopping cart app and basic websites by using libraries like bootstrap. Moreover, I signed up into the free Bootcamp prep at Flatiron to prepare for the next immersive cohort.
I knew that there is a notable inequality between males and females who are working in the tech field. I always loved to go through new challenges. By learning how to develop websites and apps, my desire will align with a new challenge. This gave me a great motivation to proceed and to look for an online coding school that can help me in improving my skills and elevating my knowledge in web development.
my conclusion is that persistence is a pivotal factor when deciding to change your career path.
